The study highlights the need for both immediate and long-term reforms to enhance local autonomy, strengthen governance structures, and reduce the dependence on federal allocations. By addressing the challenges of political interference, corruption, and weak institutional capacity, the study offers policy recommendations to ensure the successful implementation of decentralization and improve service delivery, accountability, and local governance outcomes.
